GameStop is closing stores at an alarming rate. Over the past year, the company has shut down 1,000 locations globally, with more closures on the horizon. The United States has been hit hardest, losing 590 stores, while 330 have shut across Europe and nearly 50 in Canada and Australia. Just a decade ago, GameStop operated around 6,000 stores. Now, that number has dwindled to 3,203—and it’s still shrinking.
